Having trouble getting started? Can't find your class lists? Here's a quick tip:
AFTER you've installed CPS onto your computer, make sure that you have also moved over the LastName.cps database file (each of you has a different name obviously) from your flashdrive to your desktop. IF you open CPS without specifiying your database, it will open a new database without any classes or the information you created at the first training.
And, here's something to make life easier for you in the future, if you just double click on the LastName.cps icon on your desktop, it will open CPS ready to go with your database. Nice!

JVM Error?
Are you trying to run CPS and you get an Error window that says "Unable to start the application -- The Java Virtual Machine cannot be loaded. Class not registered"

This happened to both Amy & Dana's laptops at Catoctin High School, and it has happenned on other laptops in the past so don't be shocked if it happens to you.

If it does, the first fix is to try and download a new Java Virtual Machine from the Sun Microsystems website. I tried this and it didn't work. Then I went to eInstructions tech support, and they recommend installing the NEW & IMPROVED CPS program.

Here it is if you would like to go and download it...
http://www.einstruction.com/Downloads/index.cfm
1. Go to the dropdown menu and choose "CPS for PC full release"
2. It's a good idea to save this file to your staff drive or computer first
3. After it has downloaded you can then run it and it will update the old version of CPS

Even if you don't have this error, and would like to upgrade, go ahead - let me know if you want help or have any problems with it.
